Today we release Hollow Ground - our very first single. It's a song about the ground giving way beneath your feet, about the cracks in the things we thought were solid.
Hollow Ground was recorded live at Proberaum Hohenems - our rehearsal space. No click track, no overdubs on the rhythm section, just the six of us playing together in a room. Markus Engel mixed it and somehow made a concrete box sound like a real studio.
Writing this song was the moment Reality Break stopped being a jam project and became a real band. The lyrics came first for once - usually we build from a riff, but this time the words were there before any of the music. Everything else grew around them.
